Each estimated quantity of physical material discharged (sediment, fertilizer, pesticide) is assumed to interact with the marine system at the pour point. A cost path analysis was used to travel outward into the marine areas (“as the fish swims”) with a decay function determining the deposition of the sediment at the given distance.
